Matt Grimes | New signings can make a big impact
Matt Grimes believes Swansea City’s trio of new signings can have a really positive impact over the remainder of the season.
Rhian Brewster, Marc Guehi and Conor Gallagher have all arrived on loan at the Liberty this month; Brewster joining from Liverpool, while Guehi and Gallagher have made the switch from Chelsea.
With the Swans involved in a closely-fought battle for a top-six finish in the Championship, skipper Grimes says bringing in three players of such quality – all of whom were Under-17 World Cup winners under Steve Cooper – is a major boost to the club.
And he hopes to help the triumvirate settle in quickly to give them the best chance of showing exactly what they are capable of in a Swansea City shirt.
“They are three very good, talented and highly sought-after players, so it’s fantastic to bring them to the club,” said the midfielder.
“They all share the ambition as the rest of the players and staff.
“We need to integrate them into the team as quickly as possible and make sure they settle. They are really positive signings.
“We need to be a real positive influence on this stage of their careers that they’re at.
“They’re all hungry for success and that fits in perfectly with what we’re trying to do.”
