Matt Grimes insists Swansea City won’t allow their setback at Huddersfield Town affect their preparations when they host Coventry City on Wednesday night (7pm).

The Swans went down 4-1 in Yorkshire last weekend in what Grimes described as their worst performance of the campaign.

Despite sitting on level terms at the break, three goals within seven minutes inflicted a first league defeat in 10 games for Steve Cooper’s men.

The Swans also had to play the last 30 minutes with 10 men after Jordan Morris – one of five substitutes already on the pitch – was stretchered off after landing awkwardly.

In what was a hugely disappointing afternoon for the Swans, Grimes feels squad is determined to put in a much-improved performances for the midweek clash with Coventry at the Liberty.

“There’s no time to dwell,” said the Swans skipper. “There’s another game on Wednesday and we’ve got to dust ourselves down and go again.

“There are no easy games in this league. I really believe that anyone can beat anyone in this league.

“We were very disappointed after the performance against Huddersfield, and we can’t let that affect us going into this game, and we won’t let it do that.

“It’s a different game and an opportunity for us to show it was a one-off and that we’re much better that that.”
