Captain Matt Grimes has urged Swansea City to take the opportunity to try and build momentum when they travel to face Stoke City on Tuesday night.

The Swans head to the bet365 Stadium on the back of their weekend victory at Rotherham United, to take on a Potters side sitting three points and four places behind them in the table.

The skipper felt there was plenty to take from the win in south Yorkshire, but says it is important the Swans build on it in the Potteries.

“The games come thick and fast at this time of year, and you have to take any opportunity you get to try and build momentum,” he said.

“We have had a good three points on Saturday, but we have to quickly move on and get ready for Tuesday.

“We need to crack on and do our jobs as players, turn up ready to work hard every day in training.

“That’s exactly what we did in the build up to the weekend, and we need to do it again.

“This is a group that is really together, I think everyone at the club has stuck together we have to try and put on a performance.

“The win at the weekend meant a lot, it’s been a tough run where I think we have been unlucky in some games, so getting the three points was important.

“It’s not been an easy time, but everyone has stuck together, it’s a great group and it’s a case of getting our heads down and continuing to work hard.”
