Matt Grimes will take a confident and positive attitude into this weekend’s meeting with Blackburn Rovers following the impressive midweek win over Stoke.

The Swans sit third in the Championship table having seen off the Potters by a 2-0 scoreline at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night.

They remain in SA1 to take on a freescoring Blackburn side, who have already found the net 18 times in their eight games so far this season.

Tony Mowbray’s side will certainly pose a threat, given they also boast the league’s leading marksmen in nine-goal forward Adam Armstrong.

But the Swans showed no shortage of attacking fluency in midweek, even with head coach Steve Cooper taking the opportunity to make changes amidst a busy schedule.

And skipper Grimes says there is a very positive feeling in the dressing room as Swansea get set to complete the home double-header.

“I thought we played really well in midweek, especially in the first half,” said the midfielder.

“We looked a threat and we probably played some of the best football we have played so far this season.

“It also got us back to winning ways and picking up the three points so we move forward with momentum behind us.

“We know Saturday will be a tough game and they have had some wins where they have scored a number of goals, so they will be dangerous.

“Saturday will be tough, but we’ll be confident and positive and go looking to get another win.”
