Matt Grimes | We have to kill games off

Matt Grimes says Swansea City must make sure they kill games off after seeing a late Reading equaliser deny them all three points.

The Swans had been on course to head back to the top of the Championship when Borja Baston headed in Andre Ayew’s cross early on.

But the hosts could not add to their tally and paid the price when Andy Yiadom found the far corner in the 90th minute to give the Royals a share of the spoils.

And captain Grimes felt Swansea should have been out of range before the Ghanaian struck.

“I thought we dominated the game, to be honest. I thought they played some decent stuff, but never really threatened our goal until the end of the game,” said the midfielder.

“I never felt like we were hanging on. I thought they had a lot of possession but didn’t really do anything with it and we were quite comfortable.

“So, drawing a game like that feels like a loss.

“We need to look at making sure we kill games off.

“It’s been a good start but we’re now three games without a win in the league, so that needs to change.

“We need to look at where we can improve and go again.

“It’ll be another tough game against Charlton. I’m fully confident we can go there and get something.”
