Matt Grimes | We must remain positive and respond

Captain Matt Grimes has urged Swansea City to remain positive despite seeing their unbeaten start to the season ended by Nottingham Forest.

The Reds netted a late winner through Alfa Semedo at the Liberty Stadium, making them the first Championship side to win in SA1 in 2019.

It saw Swansea’s unbeaten start to the season come to an end, but they still have a more than healthy tally of 16 points from a possible 21 so far in the 2019-20 campaign.

And Grimes, while disappointed with the result and the manner in which the Swans conceded late on, wants Cooper’s men to keep their chins up and press on for the challenges ahead.

“I think it was just a one-off. Without creating that many chances, I think we were decent up until the final third but the goal was a sloppy goal to concede,” he said.

“I hold my hands up. I should have probably taken one for the team there, but it’s a learning curve.

“We’re not expected to win every game this season and we just need to move on and return to our good form.

“I think if someone offered us the position we are in before the season started we would have snapped their hands off.

“We just need to view the result as a bump in the road and put things right next week.”
