Skipper Matt Grimes has vowed Swansea City will “leave everything out there” in their late push for the Championship play-off places.

The EFL season is set to restart on June 20 with Steve Cooper’s side 11th in the table, but just three points off the top six with nine games remaining.

With their preparations for the season’s restart in full swing, Grimes has promised the Jack Army maximum effort from he and his team-mates as they target a late surge up the table.

And the midfielder sees no reason why the Swans cannot hit the ground running when they resume their campaign.

“It’s a fantastic position to be in. If you’d have given us this position at the start of the season, we’d have snapped your hand off,” he said.

“There are a lot of teams that are a couple of points off, but we just need to focus on ourselves and getting three points,” he said.

“How we manage this period before the season restarts is vital.

“We just need to be the best prepared we can be. The lads are ultra-professional; everyone is coming back looking fit and strong. We’re just eager to kick on now.

“If we can hit the ground running – and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t – and get two or three wins on the bounce, it will put us right in the mix and that’s exactly what we’re looking to do.

“No matter what, we will definitely leave everything out there and give our all. That is one thing you can guarantee with this squad.

“If it happens for us then great but, if not, we’ll bounce back stronger next season.”
