Matt Grimes insists Swansea City will be ready to go again after a quick turnaround as they look to head into the international break on the back of a victory at Derby.

The midfielder played the full 90 minutes in the Swans’ 3-1 loss to promotion favourites Fulham.

Despite pulling a goal back just before break thanks to a cool finish by Jamie Paterson, Aleksandr Mitrovic fired in a first half hat-trick for the Cottagers to decide the contest.

Despite the final score, Grimes believes that there are positives to take from the side’s performance, with the Swans dominating the ball and having chances to set up a tight finish.

Swansea's next clash comes against the Rams on Saturday, meaning there is no time for respite, but the skipper is sure he and his team-mates will be ready to go again.

“It’s a quick turnaround but we’ll be ready,” said the captain. “Two away games in four days are always tough.

“But we’ll take plenty of positives from the game and we can really crack on Saturday.

“It was a very tough game, and they’re a very good side.

“We had the intention of coming here and winning, but, in the end, they had that killer instinct in the final third, which we lacked.

“But we showed what we can be capable of. You just look at Pato's goal, it was fantastic, he’s got that in the locker.

"If he gets in those positions, normally he tucks it away. It was a wonderful goal.”
