McBurnie agrees Newport loan

26th November

Young Swans striker Oli McBurnie has signed for Newport County on a youth loan.
The 19-year-old will stay with the League Two side until January 2, but the terms of his loan means he can still train and play Under-21 games during the duration of his stay with County.
McBurnie, who joined the Swans from Bradford back in the summer, has scored seven goals in eight games so far this season for the development squad and will be available for Newport's home game against Luton on Saturday.
"It's an exciting opportunity to go out and play games in the Football League," he said. "It will be a different challenge from the Under-21s and will allow me to come up against stronger players with more experience.
"I enjoyed my time with Chester on loan last season, the experience helped me develop a lot as a player and helped me get some goals to my name in Conference football.
"I have loved my time so far at Swansea but the chance to get on loan is a fresh challenge and I will be aiming to score my first league goal while on loan with Newport.
"This is the next step to developing me and my career and I think it is the right time to go out on loan to do that."
