McBurnie hopes to learn from Bony

14th September

Oli McBurnie believes he can learn from the experience of Wilfried Bony in the coming months.

The 21-year-old lined up alongside the Ivorian striker at the Liberty Stadium on Monday as Swansea City Under-23s beat Derby County 5-2.

The pair netted three goals between them as the young Swans earned their first win of the season in Premier League 2 Division 1.

And McBurnie, whose loan spell at Barnsley was cut short last week, is keen to keep progressing.

“I really enjoyed playing up front with Wilf this week,” said McBurnie “I have never played with him before and it was great to share the work load up front.

“I like the new system we played. It is always good to be able to adapt and having two strikers doubles the threat.

“It gives you a massive boost when you play alongside players like him and Luciano Narsingh.

“Wilf really helped me in that game and I feel I can learn things from him going forward.”
