Meet the officials | Birmingham City
Tom Nield will be the man in the middle when Swansea City travel to take on Birmingham City on Saturday (5.30pm kick-off).
He has taken charge of one Swansea fixture previously this season, with that being the 3-2 defeat at West Bromwich Albion in November.
Nield, who is also a qualified nurse, was added to the National List of Referees in April 2018 but less than two years later, Nield requested to lessen his PGMOL appointments in order to work additional hours on the front line in the acute and emergency service at the Mid-Yorkshire Hospital's NHS Trust as the country dealt with the Covid-19 pandemic.
“While the Championship and Premier League returned to complete the 2020-21 season behind closed doors, League One and League Two voted to curtail their seasons and so Nield was able to focus fully on his head of nursing role.
So far this season, he has overseen 16 fixtures handing out 60 yellow cards.
On Saturday, he will be assisted by Andrew Dallison and Mark Russell. Aaron Bannister will be the fourth official.
