Geoff Eltringham

Geoff Eltringham will be the referee when Swansea City host Blackpool at the Swansea.com Stadium on Wednesday (7.45pm kick-off).

The Durham-based official began his refereeing journey at the age of 15 operating at youth level and local leagues. He was added to the National List of Referees in 2009 and is one of the longest-serving officials, amassing more than 400 games in the EFL.

He first took charge of a Swans match in 2018 when the side hosted Blackburn Rovers at SA1. He has taken charge of a further nine Swans matches, most notably the first leg of the 2021 Championship play-off semi-final against Barnsley.

He most recently oversaw a Swans match in March 2022 when Russell Martin’s side saw off Coventry City with a 3-1 home win. He handed out four yellow cards on that day with Ben Cabango and Kyle Naughton booked for the home side.

So far this season, he has overseen 15 matches handing out 55 yellow cards and two reds.

On Wednesday, Eltringham will be assisted by Adam Crysell and Andrew Aylott. Sam Allison will be the fourth official.
