Meet the officials | Millwall

15th August
First team

Surrey-based official Gavin Ward will be the man in the middle when Swansea City host Millwall at the Swansea.com Stadium for their first midweek home match of the season.

Ward officiated his first EFL game back in August 2008, when he took charge of the League One encounter between MK Dons and Northampton Town. He has since gone on to be the lead official in more than 200 Championship, League One and League Two matches.

Ward was appointed to the National List of Referees ahead of the 2018/19 season after over 10 years as an EFL referee in League One and League Two.

During that time, he took charge of the 2017-18 EFL Trophy Final between Shrewsbury Town and Lincoln City, as well as being the fourth official for the FA Vase final in 2011.

Tuesday evening’s encounter will be Ward’s 10th occasion officiating a Swansea City home fixture.

The last occasion came in September 2021 where the Swans came out victorious 1-0 against Carlos Corberan’s Huddersfield Town.

He will be assisted by Mark Russell and Greg Read. Ollie Yates will be the fourth official.
