Meet the officials | Portsmouth

9th March
First team
Gavin Ward

Gavin Ward will have the whistle for Swansea City’s Championship clash against Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

It will be the Surrey-based official's first refereeing assignment for a Swans game taking charge of a 3-0 home win over Blackburn last season.

Ward took charge of his first EFL match in 2007 - a League Two encounter between Barnet and Hereford – and, after 10 years working primarily in the lower leagues, he was added to Select Group 2 ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Saturday will be the 16th time Ward has overseen a Swans match since first blowing the whistle in SA1 in February 2010.

So far this term, Ward has taken charge of 24 matches – mostly in the Championship – handing out 76 yellow cards and three reds.

He will be assisted by Graham Kane and Nigel Lugg, while Farai Hallam will be the fourth official.
