Meet the officials | Preston North End

19th December
First team

Robert Madley will be the man in charge when Swansea City host Preston North End at the Swansea.com Stadium on Friday evening (7.45pm kick-off).

It’s the third time the West Yorkshire official has taken charge of a Swans match this term having previously visited SA1 for the Swans home draws against Coventry City and Sunderland.

The August clash with the Sky Blues saw Madley show yellow cards to Matt Grimes and Joe Allen from the Swans, while the November meeting with Sunderland saw him issue six yellow cards. This included bookings for Harry Darling and Jay Fulton, two to Charlie Patino who was subsequently sent off on the half-hour mark.

Patino’s red card was one of four the 38-year-old has shown this season, he has also booked 67 players across his 13 matches.

While he has mostly officiated in the Championship this season, Madley most recently served as referee in a League One match between Lincoln City and Reading, and has also overseen a Premier League fixture between Brentford and Bournemouth.

On Friday, Madley will be assisted by Craig Taylor and Blake Antrobus. John Busby will be the fourth official.
