Close up of referee Keith Stroud

Keith Stroud will be the man in the middle when Swansea City host West Bromwich Albion on Monday (3pm kick-off).

It will be the fourth time this season that the man from Hampshire has overseen a Swans game, and the third time in 2023.

He most recently took charge of the dramatic south Wales derby match at Cardiff, which ended 3-2 thanks to Ben Cabango’s injury-time goal. He was also the referee for the home match against Hull City in September and an away trip to Sunderland in January.

The 53-year-old has almost 20 years of experience in the EFL and first took charge of a Swans match in March 2005 when he oversaw a draw against Northampton Town at Sixfields. Monday’s game will be his 28th Swans match.

So far this season, Stroud has taken charge of 37 matches, handing out 189 yellow cards and five reds.

One of those reds was shown to Luke O’Nien for a late challenge on Ollie Cooper at the Stadium of Light, while Stroud has also handed out 16 yellow cards across the three Swansea City matches he has refereed during the 2022-23 campaign.

Cabango, Cooper, Nathan Wood, Joel Latibeaudiere, Joel Piroe, Matty Sorinola, Ryan Manning, Olivier Ntcham, and Jay Fulton have all had their names taken by the official this term.

On Monday, Stroud will be assisted by Ian Cooper and James Wilson. Stephen Martin will be the fourth official.
