Swansea City midfielder Melker Widell will be fit for the start of pre-season despite suffering an ankle injury in the season-ending victory over Charlton.

The Sweden international was forced off during the opening half of the 3-1 win over the Addicks after being on the end of a forceful challenge.

However, scans revealed that while there was partial ligament damage, it was not serious and Widell is already approaching the end of a projected four-week recovery period, meaning he will be fit in plenty of time for the start of preparations for the 2026-27 season in early July.

Sam Parker will also be ready for the start of pre-season, with Vitor Matos having previously confirmed the full-back’s hamstring injury was not as serious as had first been feared.
