Michael Obafemi finish wins Westacres Goal of the Month vote for April

Michael Obafemi’s smart finish to complete a flowing team move and open the scoring against Cardiff City on April 2 has been voted Swansea City’s Westacres Goal of the Month by supporters.

The number nine scored his first of two in the 4-0 win over the Swans south Wales rivals, after excellent one-touch passing between him, Jamie Paterson and Joel Piroe carved open the Bluebirds defence leaving Obafemi with a simple tap in to finish off the move.

Swans scored an enormous 17 goals throughout the eight-game month with many of them worthy of the title of goal of the month and 10 making the extended shortlist, but in the end none of the strikes could match up to the first scored that month. The goal was also voted Goal of the Season at the Player Awards.
