Monet Legall | The support I've received has been fantastic
Swansea City Women's forward Monet Legall is delighted to be back in action after re-signing for the club, and has spoken of her gratitude at the support she has received as she continues her return to football.
The forward has rejoined the Swans after just over 12 months away from the game, following her pregnancy and the birth of her daughter, Mari.
This marks Legall’s second spell at the Swans, having first joined in 2022 following previous spells with Cheltenham Town, Cyncoed, and Cardiff City.
Legall cannot play for the senior team until the transfer window closes on February 12, but has been able to get minutes under her belt for the under-19s, and she admits she has surprised herself with how quickly she has adapted to being back out on the pitch.
“I am so excited to be back," she said.
“I’ve been welcomed back with open arms. Since I was here last, Yzzy has stepped up into the head coach role, and she’s been amazing with me.
"She has been pushing me when needed, but also giving me the time and space to relax when I’ve needed it.
“I have really surprised myself to be honest.
“I had to have an emergency C-section, which meant I wasn’t able to start training for 10 weeks. Since returning, the physios and strength and conditioning coaches have been incredible, putting plans in place to help me build myself back up.”
“Having played a few games for the under-19s, I’m feeling really good and just want to keep building my minutes game by game.
“It’s important for me to take this season a bit easier and not be too hard on myself. I’ve had something significant happen, so my focus is on finishing the season strongly, achieving my personal goals, and helping the team however I can.
“I’m taking each training session and game as it comes and looking ahead to being ready for next season.”
