Montero's fairy tale journey

19th October

Swansea's flying winger Jefferson Montero takes centre-stage in Monday night's Jack Magazine to discuss his fairy tale journey to becoming one of the most feared wide men in English football.
As the Swans host Stoke City at the Liberty Stadium on Monday night (8pm), Montero speaks to the official matchday magazine about his life in Swansea, his home in Ecuador, and giving back to his friends and family.
"Along with my mother, for the past seven or eight years I have been paying for games and presents on Children's Day (a national holiday in Ecuador) and also at Christmas time," says Montero via a translator.
"There are children back home in Ecuador who wouldn't get anything on these special days otherwise.
"It happened to me once. It was at Christmas or on Children's Day when I didn't have a gift, so I've had that experience of being a child who didn't have anything. I don't want that for any child.
"I am really happy and proud to be able to do this for the people who watched me grow up. They watch me on TV every weekend, so it's nice to be able to give something back to them."

Elsewhere in Monday's matchday magazine, we get to know a little bit more about Swans starlet Raheem Hanley in our Under-21s feature, while U18s winger Causso Derame chats about his move from Portugal to Wales, getting lost on the way to his first training session and leaving behind a chance to play for Sporting Lisbon.
Meanwhile, former Swans and Stoke striker Paul Connor speaks to Jack Magazine about his time at both clubs, Storage Hunters star Jesse McClure goes under the spotlight in 'A Famous Face', and Kyle Naughton features in 'Six of the Best'.
And if that wasn't enough for you, we have plenty more insightful and entertaining features to whet your appetite right up until kick-off!
Jack Magazine is available for just £3 on matchday from around the Liberty Stadium, the Club Shop and online.
It will also be available in Slee Stores in Plasmari, Coggers on Wind Street and Browns Newsagent in Landore.
Jack Magazine really is a must-have for any Swans fan. Don't miss out.
