Moussa Yeo completes move to Swansea City
Swansea City is delighted to announce the signing of Moussa Yeo from Red Bull Salzburg for an undisclosed fee, subject to the relevant approval.
The 22-year-old becomes the Swans second signing of the summer window following the arrival of defender Stephen Welsh.
He has put pen to paper on a four-year contract, with the option for an additional 12 months.
Forward Yeo has spent the last four seasons on the books of the Austrian top-flight club, making 70 appearances in all competitions, including in the Champions League and Europa League.
His European experience included netting against eventual champions Aston Villa in the latter competition last season.
The Malian also had two productive spells on loan with their feeder club FC Liefering in the Austrian second tier prior to becoming a first-team regular with Salzburg, where he previously worked with head coach Vitor Matos.
A creative player capable of playing as a winger or an attacking midfielder, Yeo has caught the eye with his technical skill, pace and ability to pick out key passes in the final third and will bolster Matos’ forward options.
“Moussa is a player who will bring creativity, energy and versatility,” Matos.
“He can play more than one position and has good game understanding. I have worked with him before, and I know he will be an exciting player.
“He is a young player, but he has already been exposed to a really good level of football and we are confident he will be able to adapt to the physicality, the intensity and the amount of games in the Championship.
“He is a player who can help us to improve in an area of the pitch where we wanted to take a next step. Moussa joins us after performing well in all aspects of our recruitment process and we are very happy to have him with us.”
