Narsingh relishes new role

Luciano Narsingh revealed some words of wisdom from Carlos Carvalhal gave him a big boost going into Saturday’s home draw with Everton.

The Dutch international was handed his fifth league start in the Premier League this season in an unfamiliar wing-back role.

He impressed down the right flank before being substituted at half-time after picking up an ankle injury.

And Narsingh, who will have the problem assessed tomorrow, hopes he has made a good enough impression to secure some more game-time as the Swans head into their final five games of the campaign.

“The gaffer told me to play on the line and one-on-one. It was a role I enjoyed and he gave me a lot of confidence,” said Narsingh.

“He said if I lose the ball that it doesn’t matter – keep going. That really helped me.

“I managed to get into the one-on-one situation on a few occasions and I beat my man and put the cross in.

“Wing-back is a different role for me although I did play there in the cup. But I just want to give everything to the team and try to help us as much as I can.”
