Kyle Naughton is in line to return from illness for Swansea City’s trip to Preston North End, but Connor Roberts is a doubt for the Deepdale contest.

Full-back Naughton, 31, missed out on the defeat at Stoke after picking up a virus, but he has made a full recovery and is in contention for selection this weekend.

Roberts, 24, was forced off against the Potters after suffering a shoulder injury and has not played a full part in training, with Cooper and his staff assessing the Wales international ahead of the journey to Lancashire.

“Kyle is fine after missing last week’s game with a virus,” said the Swans boss.

“But he returned to training when we were back in at the start of the week, so he is fine.

Stoke Connor Roberts

“Connor has been off training for most of the week.

“He obviously injured his should, he is not completely ruled out for the weekend.

“But it has not completely healed so we will monitor that as we go along.”

Head coach Cooper also confirmed defender Mike van der Hoorn is still three to four weeks away from a return from his knee injury.

Winger Jordon Garrick, meanwhile, has returned to full training after a hamstring problem and is potentially in line to play some part for the under-23s against Newcastle on Monday.
