Ollie Cooper strike wins Westacres Goal of the Month vote

Ollie Cooper has won Swansea City’s Westacres Goal of the Month competition for October thanks to his strike in the south Wales derby.

The midfielder opened the scoring against Cardiff City as he steered the ball into the net via the underside of the crossbar with a clever improvised finish following a run from Luke Cundle.

The 22-year-old’s goal came out on top in our fan vote, fighting off competition from a quartet of other memorable strikes.

Olivier Ntcham’s effort at West Brom, Ben Cabango’s headed winner at Watford, Jay Fulton’s strike from distance against Reading, and Michael Obafemi’s finish against Cardiff had also been shortlisted.

Those who voted went into a random draw with win a Swans shirt signed by Ollie, and James Griffith is the winner.

Congratulations James!
