Performance is key, says Richards

Gary Richards believes Swansea City’s Under-23s have what it takes to get back winning ways when they face Arsenal at Landore on Monday (7pm).

The young Swans return to Premier League 2 action following back-to-back league defeats against Leicester City and Everton in October.

Recent results have seen the young Swans slip to ninth in the division one table.

But Richards insists the under-23s’ performances suggest better results are around the corner.

“We are looking forward to getting back to league action,” the under-23s coach said.

“We’ve had good performances this season but haven’t always got the results we deserved.

“It is important we continue to build on those performance levels and if we do everything right I believe that results will follow.

“We have continued to work hard in training but we need to make sure we take that into Monday’s game and get some momentum back.

“We want to do well in this division. We know we are a good team and it is important we go out and show that on the pitch to do ourselves justice with the results.”
