Swansea City manager Graham Potter and striker Oli McBurnie have been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Manager and Player of the Month awards respectively.

Swans boss Potter led his side through an unbeaten January where they picked up eight points from a possible 12 courtesy of wins over Reading and Sheffield United, plus draws with Preston and Birmingham.

It marked the first time Swansea had gone through a calendar month unbeaten since May 2017, and kept them within reach of the play-off places.

The 43-year-old is up against fellow nominees Bristol City's Lee Johnson, Brentford's Thomas Frank and Blackburn's Tony Mowbray. The winner will be announced on Friday.

McBurnie was a key part of Swansea's strong run of form at the start of 2019, with the Scotland international netting five times in his three league appearances.

The 22-year-old is nominated alongside Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham, Blackburn midfielder Adam Armstrong and Hull winger Kamil Grosicki, with the winner of the players' award also being revealed on Friday.
