Swansea City Under-18s will play their first game of 2023 when they take on Charlton Athletic on Saturday at the Addicks training ground. (11am kick-off).

The young Addicks are currently unbeaten in five games, all of which have been high scoring affairs, including a 6-0 win over Ipswich Town and an impressive 8-1 victory over Liverpool.

The Swans fell to defeat in the reverse fixture at Landore Training Ground back in October. A first-half brace from Geoff Bony had the hosts level at the break, but the reigning Professional Development League South champions proved too strong in the second half and eventually ran out 5-3 winners.

Last time out, the young Swans shared the spoils in a 10-goal thriller against Colchester United, which saw striker Iwan Morgan net four first-half goals to take his goal haul up to 13 so far this season.

Coach Darren Davies: "We'll go into the new year with the same principles and style of play we've implemented so far this season. The boys have been fantastic.

"Charlton are a tough and physical side, they were hard competition when we were host to them back in October, but again, we'll stick to what we know and we'll go out there and play."
