Kris O’Leary has challenged Swansea City Under-23s to finish their season off in style ahead of their trip to Colchester United on Friday (1pm).

The Swans go into the game on the back of a 1-0 win at Professional Development League North winners Sheffield United on Wednesday.

O’Leary’s side have also picked up three consecutive clean sheets and are unbeaten in their last four matches.

They visit Colchester on Friday before travelling to Sheffield Wednesday on Monday to sign off their campaign.

And O’Leary, who returned to the club as U23s coach in February, is hoping to see his side end their season on a high.

“We enjoyed our victory on Wednesday against a very tough Sheffield United side, and we came away from that having learned a few things,” said O’Leary.

“I think the schedule is a big learning curve too. It’s like first-team football – play, recover, play, recover.

“The challenge is to keep improving and keep learning, and I think we’ve shown improvement in terms of clean sheets and the way we want to play.

“It’s a work in progress. A lot of that happened before I came back, and we’re continuing the work.

“Can we finish on a high? That’s the challenge.”

Fit again Jacob Jones could be in contention for selection for the game against Colchester as the left-back has recently returned to training after a spell on the sidelines.
