Preview | Hull City v Swansea City
Swansea City cap off a three-game week with a trip to East Yorkshire to face Hull City this afternoon at the MKM Stadium (3pm kick-off).
Vitor Matos' side will look to build on their 3-1 midweek victory over Blackburn Rovers as they get set to face the in-form Tigers in their own backyard.
Hull are seeking a third-successive league victory, following wins over Southampton and fellow top-six side Preston North End that have moved them close to the automatic promotion spots.
Team news
Vitor Matos has confirmed Zeidane Inoussa will miss Saturday's trip to Hull, whilst Ethan Galbraith will be assessed ahead of the clash.
The head coach revealed Inoussa has suffered a suspected stress fracture in his back and is seeing a specialist, whilst Galbraith, who was forced off in Tuesday's 3-1 win against Blackburn, is also being treated by the medical team.
Chelsea loanee Ishe Samuels-Smith is back on the grass after being sidelined following a calf injury.
Pre-match views
Vitor Matos: "We want to press wherever we go, we want to be dominant wherever we go. We know it is a tough test, they have good players like Oli (McBurnie) and Liam (Millar) who was in the Liverpool academy when I was there.
"They are a good team, they are really competitive and really dangerous with the ball when it comes to attacking vertically. So it is a game where we need to be focused for 90 minutes and be really good with and without the ball.
"But we have belief, and that isn't only about results, that is about what we do every day in our training sessions and how the team is developing and growing.
"We want to develop that winning mentality, and if you want that you need to have it in your performances at home and away."
Sergej Jakirović: “Of course it is important that we keep this focus we have shown.
“I hope we can take three points from this game because I know it is important to be pragmatic when we play at home.
“You do not want to play so open that the opponent is able to use the space.
“But right now we are in very good shape and I am happy when I see that.”
Meet the officials
Josh Smith will be the referee for Swansea City’s Championship clash with Hull City at the MKM Stadium this afternoon (3pm).
Saturday will be the 10th Swans match he has taken charge of in his career, with the historic 4-0 south Wales derby victory at Cardiff City Stadium in 2022 among that number.
So far this season, Smith has officiated 18 games handing out 60 yellow cards and two red cards.
He will be assisted by Sam Lewis and Callum Gough. Thomas Parsons is the fourth official.
Remember the last time?
Hull City 2 Swansea City 1
Mason Burstow’s late goal gave Hull City all three points at the MKM Stadium as Swansea City were punished for a sluggish performance.
The Tigers substitute took advantage of loose play by the Swans in their own half, and drove infield to fire the ball into the far corner of the net.
That came after Harry Darling had headed the Swans back on level terms from Josh Tymon’s cross just before the interval, cancelling out Joao Pedro’s opener.
Both sides also hit the woodwork, with Ben Cabango’s close-range header striking a post for the Swans.
