Swansea City Under-18s will be aiming to upset the form book when they face high-flying Manchester City in the FA Youth Cup third round on Thursday (5pm).

The young Swans travel to the Academy Stadium looking to progress to the fourth round of the competition for the second time in three seasons.

However, they head to Manchester on the back of a four-match winless run – during which they have conceded 24 goals.

Five of those came without reply when they faced City in the Premier League Cup last month – a result Anthony Wright’s side will be desperate to avenge.

Meanwhile, the hosts have won each of their last four games – scoring 16 goals along the way – and are currently eight points clear at the top of Premier League North.

Gareth Taylor's side are aiming to go one step further in the FA Youth Cup, having lost to Liverpool on penalties in the final of last year's competition.

The Swans were beaten 4-2 by Aston Villa at the third-round stage, while they reached the fourth round the previous year – losing 2-0 to Fulham.
