Millwall are also in good form have picked up nine points from their previous five games. Their only defeat of 2023 came against Cardiff City away from home in February.

The Lions are coached by former Swans striker, Kevin Nugent. Nugent signed for the Swans in 2003, and went on to make over 70 appearances, scoring 13 goals.

After hanging his boots up, the former Leyton Orient man went on to assist Kenny Jackett in the coaching set-up for the 2006-2007 season. Following Jackett's dismissal, Nugent stepped up as caretaker manager for three games.

Pre-match views

Coach Anthony Wright: "We're back on the road and ultimately, it is against the league leaders. But, again, that's something we don't look at, we'll look at it like any other game.

"However, the boys have been on good form recently, and there's no doubt we can go there and pull out a result."

Millwall 3 Swansea City 1

Three late goals saw Swansea City Under-23s beater on their last trip to Millwall in the Professional Development League.

The Swans led for the majority of the game, but three goals in the last six minutes snatched the three points for the Lions.

The Swans were the ones who took the lead - a great passing exchange found Dylan Morgan on the edge of the box and he slid a great ball across to Lincoln Mcfayden and he buried his effort into the bottom corner.

Mcfayden almost had his second of the afternoon just before the break as a fantastic ball from Jacob Jones found the left wing-back in space, but his thunderous strike cannoned off the post.

But with six minutes left of the game, Millwall found an equaliser. A low cross found Tyrese Briscoe in the box and his low effort hit the post and went in to make it 1-1.

With one minute left of normal time, Millwall found a winner. Jayden Davis’ looping free-kick from a seemingly impossible angle squeezing into the top corner.

To add insult to injury, Millwall were handed a penalty in stoppage time, with Davis converting for his second of the day with the final kick of the game.
