Preview | Millwall v Swansea City
Swansea City look to extend their stint at the top of the Championship when they travel to Millwall this evening (7.45pm).
Vitor Matos' squad returned from a three-week international break with a 2-1 victory over Norwich City at the Swansea.com Stadium at the weekend, leaving them two points clear at the summit of the second tier.
Millwall also came back from the break with a win, claiming a 1-0 victory against Preston North End at Deepdale. The Lions currently sit eighth in the league standings with four wins to their name.
Team news
The Swans will be without Stephen Eustaquio and Josh Key. Eustaquio suffered a minor shoulder injury while on international duty, while Key is still recovering from a hamstring problem.
Adam Idah suffered a knock in the second half of the win over Norwich and was taken off as a precaution.
Pre-match views
Vitor Matos: “Millwall will be a completely different game.
“I think it’s a really hard place to go and a different type of challenge that will test us in different ways.
“We know they’re a really competitive team, a team that can always bounce back, can always fight until the last minute, like last season, so we need to be ready again.
“It’s important that we prepare the game in the right way as always, and be ready to put in another proper performance for the fans.”
Alex Neil: "You know what it's like at this level, if you can put a few wins together you can get a bit of momentum.
"You get that confidence and belief, and the fans believe. We deserved the win at the weekend, now we've got two really tough games coming up.
"We need to try and pick up as many points as they can."
Meet the officials
Edward Duckworth will be the man in the middle for Swansea City's trip to Millwall this evening (7.45pm).
Duckworth officiated the Swans 2-0 win over Watford in September at the Swansea.com Stadium.
So far this season, he has taken charge of 10 games, handing out 39 yellow cards and one red card.
On Tuesday, he will be assisted by George Byrne and Matthew Gunn-Smit. Ruebyn Ricardo is the fourth official.
Last time at The Den - January 4, 2026
An outstanding display from goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux was not enough for Swansea City to emerge with a point against Millwall as Caleb Taylor headed in a stoppage-time winner for the hosts at The Den.
The hosts had much the better of the opening half at The Den and would have led by more than Mihailo Ivanovic’s strike had Vigouroux not made a series of stunning saves to deny Ivanovic, Macaulay Langstaff, Femi Azeez and Camiel Neghli.
But the visitors improved after falling behind and levelled early in the second half when skipper Cabango arrived at the far post to convert from a flick-on, with Vigouroux then making what looked like being two further priceless stops to prevent Jay Fulton putting through his own net and to deny Jake Cooper a late winner.
However, he could stop Taylor's header finding the net after the centre-back rose at the far post deep into four added minutes.
Swansea City: Lawrence Vigouroux; Ethan Galbraith, Ben Cabango (captain), Cameron Burgess, Ishe Samuels-Smith (Josh Tymon 59); Jay Fulton, Goncalo Franco, Malick Yalcouye (Melker Widell 59); Ronald (Zeidane Inoussa 73), Jisung Eom (Marko Stamenic 73): Zan Vipotnik (Bobby Wales 88).
Unused Substitutes: Andy Fisher, Kaelan Casey, Ollie Cooper, Sam Parker.
