Preview: MK Dons v Swans

22nd August
First team

The Swans target a first victory of the season tonight as they take on League One side MK Dons in the Carabao Cup (7.45pm).

The Swans go into the game looking to bounce back from last weekend's league defeat to Manchester United at the Liberty.

MK Dons, meanwhile, picked up their first league win of the season on Saturday - a 1-0 triumph over Gillingham.

The hosts could include former Swan Joe Walsh in their plans, with the defender having arrived at Stadium mk in 2015 following an initial loan spell from Crawley.

Winners of this competition in 2013, the Swans have since reached the third round three times and the fourth round on one occasion.

Team news

Nathan Dyer and Ki Sung-Yueng definitely won't feature due to injury while Leon Britton missed last weekend's game with a back problem. Fernando Llorente, meanwhile, is continuing his recovery from a broken bone in his arm.

Paul Clement, who takes his side to Crystal Palace on Saturday, could be tempted to give opportunities to players who are yet to feature this season.

MK Dons could hand a full debut to winger Peter Pawlett, who joined the club from Aberdeen in the summer.

Boss Robbie Neilson could restore Dean Lewington, Ed Upson and Kieran Agard to his starting XI after the trio were among his subsitutes in the 1-0 in over Gillingham.

What the gaffer said

Swans boss Paul Clement: "I don't anticipate doing massive changes for our League Cup game in midweek, we have to work on our game on all sides and then next we have a trip to Crystal Palace. That becomes really important."
