PREVIEW: Southampton v Swans

18th September

The Swans travel to Southampton this afternoon aiming to build on the positives from their 2-2 draw with Chelsea last weekend.
Francesco Guidolin's side fought back from a goal down to earn a share of the spoils against the visiting Blues, courtesy of efforts from Gylfi Sigurdsson and the in-form Leroy Fer.
The well-earned point sees the Swans sit in 13th place in the Premier League with four points heading into today's fixture, while Southampton currently lie two points adrift and yet to register their first win of the campaign.
Last time out, the Saints were unfortunate to suffer a 2-1 defeat at Arsenal, following draws with Sunderland and Watford at home and a 2-0 defeat at Manchester United.
But they returned to winning ways on Thursday night with a 3-0 victory over Sparta Prague in their opening fixture of the Europa League campaign.
Swans boss Guidolin will be hoping to be able to call upon record signing Borja Baston this afternoon, who will be aiming to finally make his Swans debut following a thigh injury, while Nathan Dyer will miss out with an ankle injury. The winger is due to undergo an operation on Monday.

WHAT THEY SAID
Southampton boss Claude Puel: "It is important to stay concentrated on the next game against Swansea, which will be very difficult, because the players must play another game after just two days off following this game."

Swans head coach Francesco Guidolin: "We must be ready to fight, because in this league to fight is the most important thing. The quality of the players is obviously important, but fighting spirit is very important."
