Jon Grey has called for more of the same from his in-form Swansea City Under-23s side ahead of today's showdown with Newcastle United at Landore (1pm).

Fans can watch today’s match LIVE on swanseacity.com and our official Facebook page from 1pm.

The young Swans welcome Newcastle for the Premier League 2 Division Two clash, aiming to record a fifth victory in seven games across all competitions.

The development side, who were 1-0 winners when the sides met at St James' Park back in September, return to league action fresh from booking their place in the Premier League International Cup quarter-finals courtesy of last week’s thumping 4-0 victory over Everton.

Currently seventh in the table, victory over 10th-place Newcastle would lift them into the play-off places heading into the final six games of the season.

And Grey has urged his players to build on their recent momentum by producing another positive performance at Landore.

“We must keep doing what we have been and go into the game with the same attitude and commitment we’ve shown in the previous ones,” the under-23s coach said.

“Every time the boys take to the field, it’s a chance for them to show what they can do and how much they’re developing.

“We want them to enjoy themselves when they’re playing, work hard and show the first-team staff what they can do.

“Confidence is up at the moment with the players. We’ve got four wins in our last six games and the game we did draw; we felt we probably should have won that as well.

“Today is another great opportunity for the boys to showcase themselves at home against one of the biggest clubs in the UK.”
