Preview | Swansea City v Watford
Swansea City look to extend their unbeaten start to the season when Watford visit the Swansea.com Stadium on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
Vitor Matos' side have taken seven points from the nine on offer, and recorded an emphatic 3-0 win at Derby County at the weekend.
Watford held West Ham to a draw at Vicarage Road on Saturday, and have also yet to suffer defeat in the league so far this term after drawing at Wrexham and beating Southampton.
Team news
Swansea City are hopeful of having Joseph Opoku available after the winger suffered a cut to his foot in the win over Derby.
The Swans are continuing to monitor the fitness of skipper Ben Cabango following his heel injury, while Goncalo Franco and Cameron Burgess remain on the sidelines.
New signing Tom Iorpenda is registered and available after completing his move from Huddersfield Town.
Pre-match views
Vitor Matos: "The next game is always the most important game so it's important we recover and prepare properly to show the same mentality and intensity.
"It will be a very competitive game, we know how the nature of the Championship is, especially at the beginning of the season.
"They have a new manager who has brought some new ideas, they are a team with a very clear style.
"But we are at home, we love being at home, so let's use it as an advantage."
Alessio Dionisi: “It was a very difficult match against West Ham, but we are happy with the result because we were together and played well.
“It is important that my team gets better every day and today I saw the improvement.
“Now we need to recover for the next match. It is better to recover after a good result.”
Meet the officials
Edward Duckworth will be the man in the middle when Swansea City host Watford on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
Duckworth’s route into professional refereeing began in the Lancashire Sunday League, before he progressed to the National League ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Alongside his refereeing career, he worked as the FA’s National Talent Manager for match officials. He later left that role to focus fully on his own development as a referee, earning promotion to the EFL in the process.
Last season, he oversaw 40 matches across the EFL's three divisions and Cup competitions, producing 158 yellow cards and seven red cards.
Duckworth officiated just one Swansea fixture last season, which came in our 4-1 home defeat to Ipswich Town last November.
On Tuesday, he will be assisted by Hugh Gilroy and Jacob Lehane, while John Busby will serve as the fourth official.
Remember the last time?
Žan Vipotnik struck a late equaliser to ensure Swansea City secured a point against Watford at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The Slovenian forward was on hand to turn the ball home via the inside of the post to reward a dominant second-half display.
The Swans had trailed in a hard-fought contest of few clear chances, with Nestory Irankunda curling a brilliant set-piece into the top corner of the net during the closing stages of the first half.
Lawrence Vigouroux and Ben Cabango had helped deny Luca Kjerrumgaard earlier in the game, but the home side had much the better after the interval with Liam Cullen, Ronald and Zeidane Inoussa all having chances.
And substitute Vipotnik found the net with seven minutes to play to give Swansea a point, which was the least they deserved.
