Swansea City are back in action at the Swansea.com Stadium as they host high-flying West Brom.

Russell Martin's side go into the game on the back of a 3-0 victory over Cardiff in the south Wales derby, with goals from Jamie Paterson, Joel Piroe and Jake Bidwell ensuring the Jack Army bagged the bragging rights.

That proved a second home league win of the season for the Swans, who now look to back that performance and result up against a Baggies team that has started life back in the Championship very well under new boss Valerian Ismael.

The former Crystal Palace defender guided Barnsley to the play-offs last season, only to be knocked out by the Swans in the semi-finals, but he will be targeting promotion this time around with West Brom.

The Baggies have suffered just one defeat this season, a 1-0 loss at Stoke earlier this month, but they have the second best defensive record and are the division's third-highest scorers.

Paterson celebration.

Team news

The Swans have a fully fit squad to choose from, with Martin seeing all of his players training this week.

Alex Mowatt, who followed Ismael to West Brom from Barnsley, is a doubt after he was taken off in the previous outing against Birmingham, while Grady Diangana is ruled out through injury.

Pre-match views

Russell Martin: "We won’t go into this game thinking the work is done because we put in a very good performance and beat Cardiff. This is a different game, a different form of emotion attached to it, and we have to be on top of our game."

West Brom wing-back Conor Townsend: “Swansea had a good win in a derby of their own last weekend so we know they’ll be full of life. It’ll be tough but we’ve got a game plan and hopefully we’ll be able to execute it.”

Remember the last time

On March 7, 2020, a forgettable game ended 0-0 in SA1. But the real story was that it proved the last game in front of a crowd before the Covid pandemic, thus fans not being permitted to grounds until further notice.
