Przemyslaw Placheta hopes his pace can add an extra dimension to Swansea City’s play after completing a deadline-day move to SA1.

The 25-year-old Poland international has signed a contract through to the end of the 2023-24 campaign, and will wear the number 17 shirt for the Swans.

He is the third wide attacking player to join the club this week, following the arrivals of Ronald and Charles Sagoe Jr.

Placheta brings plenty of Championship experience from his time at Norwich City and Birmingham City, while he helped the Canaries secure promotion to the Premier League in 2021.

And he is eager to make his mark at his new club, and wants to bring speed and directness to the Swans in the final third.

“I am looking forward to joining such a huge club,” he said.

“When I heard of the interest in me, I thought this would be a good place to become a better player.

“I want to help the team, it’s a very good team. I have seen a couple of games, and when I played against Swansea earlier this season we lost 2-1, so I hope I can add something positive to this team.

“I am a winger, I am quite fast and I like to dribble and play direct football. I like to use my speed to put crosses into the box for players who can score.

“I will try to do my best and to work hard on the pitch for this team, I cannot wait to try and do my best here.

“I am fast and I hope I can add this quality to the team to help Swansea win games.

“I will do my best to score goals and make assists to help the team win.

“I want to play as many games as I can and put in my best performance on the pitch. I am looking forward to the challenge.”

Przemyslaw Placheta

Placheta is a compatriot of former Swansea keeper Lukasz Fabianski, and has played alongside him for Poland.

The forward is aware of how popular a figure the goalkeeper was during his four years with the Swans, and hopes he can connect with the supporters in the same way.

And he’ll be calling on Fabianski for some advice about his new surroundings.

“Yes, I know Lukasz. I love him, he is a top, top guy and a person who has been at the top,” added Placheta.

“He is a very good goalkeeper and you can see how many games he has got in the Premier League.

“He is still someone I need to talk to and I can ask him some questions about Swansea and the city here, I look forward to speaking to him about this club.

“He was here for four years, he had a great time here so I need to ask him how to do the same thing here."
