Reid aims to improve U23s impact

23rd September

Tyler Reid is aiming to build on a slow start to the season following a solid display during Swansea City Under-23s’ 3-1 defeat against Manchester City at Landore.

The right-back created a number of dangerous crosses with some strong runs down the wing as the U23s battled to find an equaliser against City in Premier League 2 on Friday night.

And following encouragement from Cameron Toshack and Gary Richards to expand on that part of his game, Reid admits he wants to provide more assists during the U23s’ coming games.

“Cameron and Gary see it as one of my strengths,” the 20-year-old defender said. “They always encourage me to get forward and I’m just happy to help the team with whatever I can do.

“It’s been a bit of a slow start to the season for me personally, but I’m looking to pick it up in the coming weeks.

“I’m putting in the hard work on the training ground and I want my performances to show.

“We created some good chances last night and it could have gone either way.

“We will look back, reflect on how well we did in the game, take a few days and look to improve in the next game.”
