U18s team huddle 16x9

Swansea City Under-18s tasted defeat for the first time in five matches in Professional Development League as they went down 3-1 to Bristol City.

Byron Anthony’s team had gone into the game on the back of a victory over Colchester and draws with Nottingham Forest, Millwall and Hull City.

But that run came to an end in Stoke Gifford despite Cameron Congreve's goal levelling matters from the penalty spot after sub Aaron Hillier was fouled in the box in the second half.

The Swans again handed a number of younger age group players a chance to pick up vital experience, with a quartet of under-15s players in Dan Watts, Iwan Morgan, Aima Govea, younger brother of fellow Swan Jordi, and Rohan Davies all featuring.

Anthony also handed under-16 grade trio Jada Mawongo, Joel Cotterill and Ben Lloyd starts against the Robins.

Next up for the Swans is a home clash with Sheffield Wednesday in Landore on Saturday (11am).

Swans U18s: Josh Hutchings, Dan Watts, Jada Mawongo, Ryan Bassett, Cian Williams, Rio Campbell (Aima Govea, 75), Joel Cotterill, Cameron Congreve, Ben Lloyd, Mike Murphy (Rohan Davies, 82), Iwan Morgan (Aaron Hillier, ht).

Sub not used: Tyler Evans.
