Report | Penybont 0 Swansea City U18s 3

12th July
Josh Carey

Swansea City Under-18s began their pre-season campaign with a comfortable win over Cymru Premier side Penybont.

A first-half penalty from Josh Carey sent the Swans into the break with a one-goal lead, before Geoff Bony and Iwan Morgan sealed the game with second-half goals.

Filip Lissah and Carey featured in their second game in four days, having played in the under-21s 5-0 win over Trefelin BCG on Saturday.

Iwan Morgan came close to breaking the deadlock for the young Swans, firing a shot against the crossbar before pulling one just wide minutes later.

Carey would break the deadlock for the Swans, having been pulled down in the box he stepped up to the spot, making no mistake as he buried the ball into the bottom corner.

Carey came close to a second in the second half, Bony having a low effort parried before Carey’s effort from the rebound was cleared off the line.

But Bony would eventually make it two, his low hard effort finding the bottom right corner to double the Swans advantage.

Rohan Davies had the chance to make it three, a fantastic flick from Morgan sending the forward through, but his low effort was well dealt with by the goalkeeper.

Morgan would round off the win with the last kick of the game, powering a low effort past the goalkeeper to get a deserved goal.
