Swansea City Women rounded off an impressive pre-season campaign in style with a 5-0 victory over Penybont at the DragonBet Stadium.

A first-half strike from Chloe Chivers was followed by second-half finishes from Lauren Davies, Ellie Lake, Caitlin Seaborne and Emily Richards to round off an excellent afternoon's work in Bridgend and maintain the Swans' 100 per cent record in pre-season.

It was also a fifth clean sheet in as many pre-season games, with Swansea limiting the hosts to very few opportunities in front of goal.

The Swans made their mark early, taking the lead through a trademark Chivers strike from distance.

The game settled as the first half progressed, with the hosts dropping into a low block and limiting Swansea's opportunities before the interval.

However, the Swans came flying out of the blocks after the restart, with Davies doubling the advantage before Lake added a third just minutes later.

Seaborne then headed home from a corner before Richards rounded off the scoring in spectacular fashion with a superb long-range effort.

Swansea started positively, with Lake having the first opportunity after Penybont failed to clear their lines. The full-back struck the loose ball on the volley from a tight angle, but her effort flew over the bar.

The Swans would take the lead soon after, with Chivers receiving the ball on the half-turn before shifting it out of her feet and firing a powerful effort into the bottom corner from 30 yards.

Chivers was involved again as Swansea went in search of a second, delivering a dangerous ball across the face of goal which was met first time by Davies, but her effort struck the post.

Swansea continued to dominate and went close again following a swift attacking move. Chivers flicked the ball into the path of an unmarked Lake, but the full-back drilled her effort over the bar.

Richards had a half-chance shortly before half-time, but her free-kick was comfortably held by Penybont goalkeeper Molly Bird.

The Swans came flying out of the blocks in the second half and quickly added a second, with Davies producing a fantastic solo run to evade several Bont defenders before calmly slotting the ball past Bird.

A third followed just minutes later. Davies' corner was initially dealt with by the Penybont defence, but the second ball fell to Lake, who fired home from close range.

Swansea continued to push for more and added a fourth with 15 minutes remaining. Chivers' corner was met at the far post by Seaborne, who guided her header beyond the Penybont goalkeeper.

A fifth arrived with seven minutes remaining as Richards produced the pick of the second-half goals, striking a superb half-volley from 25 yards which cannoned off the post and into the net.

The result rounds off an unbeaten pre-season campaign for the Swans, who now turn their attention to next weekend's Genero Adran Premier opener against Cardiff City.
