Report: Spurs U23s 1 Swans U23s 4

2nd November

Swansea City Under-23s recorded their first Premier League 2 win of the season in emphatic fashion after thrashing Tottenham 4-1 at Hotspur Way.

The young Swans came from behind in North London, with Liam Cullen and Botti Biabi helping themselves to two goals each as they eventually breezed past the hosts.

The development side made just a single change to the side that held Arsenal to a creditable 1-1 draw at Landore last week, with Keiran Evans coming in for Yan Dhanda.

They were unlucky to go into the break a goal down after Tottenham opened the scoring on 36 minutes, when J’Neil Bennett pulled a cross back to the edge of the area for Paris Maghoma to drill home.

Nevertheless, the visitors responded well and turned the match on its head five minutes into the second half.

First Cullen grabbed his first goal of the season when he poked home at the back post, before bagging his second moments later to put the Swans in front.

Biabi broke his duck for the campaign to make it 3-1 midway through the half, and completed his brace seven minutes from time to round off a memorable victory for the visitors, who handed a debut to new signing Jordi Govea in the latter stages of the contest.
