Swansea City Ladies maintained their perfect record after they swept aside Cyncoed at Llandarcy.

A frustrating first half for the Swans ended on a high with Laura Davies scoring just one minute remaining of the opening 45.

And they backed that goal up with an emphatic second-half showing ensuring the reigning Welsh Premier Women's League champions kept their 100 per cent record in tact.

Further goals came courtesy of Chloe Chivers, Emma Beynon, a brace from Tija Richardson and an own goal as the Swans took their tally to 30 scored in just seven matches.

In a steady start, Shaunna Jenkins had enjoyed the first shot of the match off but it didn’t pose a threat to Maisie Jones in the Cyncoed goal as it was dragged wide of the near post.

Chivers created a chance for John-Davis after she won a header on the edge of the box, but the striker was only able to divert her effort just wide of the far post.

Katy Hosford then worked a half-chance on the left flank after she cut onto her right foot, however, her strike was comfortably gathered by Jones.

But, In the dying embers of the first half, after dominating possession throughout, Davies met Richardson’s cross with conviction to head it into the back of the net.

Richardson was denied a goal by the crossbar early in the second half; there were multiple Swansea appeals that the ball bounced over the line but nothing was given.

John-Davis nearly doubled the Swans’ lead after she was picked out by Chivers’ delivery into the penalty area, but she was denied by a diving save from the keeper.

However, Richardson did increase the home side’s advantage after she leaped above everybody in the penalty area to head home Chivers’ corner.

The midfielder then grabbed her second goal of the afternoon after she ran onto Hosford’s dangerous cross to head the ball home with power from close range.

There was certainly no doubt where the three points were ending up after Caitlin Meadows turned the ball into her own net with Beynon applying the pressure to force the mistake in the box.

With the game drawing to a close, Jenkins scuffed her shot but it then fell kindly to Chivers. who remained calm and found the back of the net with ease to.

Substitute Beynon had the last say though, as she drilled the ball into the far corner to round off a comprehensive victory.
