Report | Swansea City U18s 0 Ynysygerwn 2

Swansea City Under-18s suffered their first defeat of pre-season after conceding two early goals against Ynysygerwn at Llandarcy.

Byron Anthony’s side fell behind when a first-minute set-piece ended with Ynysygerwn heading in the opener.

And the deficit was doubled inside 10 minutes by a close-range finish from the Welsh League side, after Swans keeper Tyler Evans had parried an initial effort.

And Evans made a tremendous save late on to tip a goalbound free-kick onto the woodwork.

The game came two days after the Swans’ friendly with Barry Town Under-19s was abandoned after an injury to Cole Gibbings.

Gibbings was stretchered off and taken to hospital with a cheek injury, but he is making good progress in his recovery.
