Swansea City Under-18s conceded a stoppage-time winner as they were narrowly beaten 3-2 by Liverpool in their Premier League Cup opener.

The young Swans had made a flying start at Landore – taking a 2-0 lead.

However, they conceded three times in the last 24 minutes as their competition began with a defeat.

The under-18s made a bright start to the contest and took a 24th-minute lead when Ryan Bevan slotted home from the penalty spot.

The hosts doubled their advantage 11 minutes into the second half as Bradley Gibbings set up Will Rickard to put them 2-0 to the good.

But Liverpool – currently second in Premier League North – responded as skipper Fidel O’Rourke pulled one back, while substitute Owen Beck equalised with eight minutes remaining as he rounded off a superb team move.

And the turnaround was completed in the third minute of stoppage time, as O’Rourke struck his second to snatch all three points for the young Reds.
