Report | Swansea City U18s 3 Wigan Athletic U18s 3

4th November
Anthony Wright 16x9

Swansea City Under-18s twice came from behind to earn a point in their highly entertaining draw with Wigan Athletic at Landore.

Wigan arrived in South Wales with five wins from five in the Professional Development League, and opened up 1-0 and 3-2 leads over the young Swans.

But Anthony Wright’s side demonstrated great character to earn a share of the spoils.

Following a goalless first half, Harry McGee put the Latics ahead just after the restart, but Morgan Clarke levelled from the penalty spot before Josh Thomas put the Swans in front.

A Sean McGurk brace restored Wigan’s advantage, but substitute Jacob Edwards climbed off the bench to equalise for the hosts seven minutes from time.

Swansea City U18s: Josh Hutchings, Adrian Akande, Rio Campbell (Dylan Perkins, 80), Kai Ludvigsen, Panashe Makokowe, Cian Williams, Morgan Clarke, Erick Kenko, Josh Thomas, Adnaan Moti (Scott Butler, 67), Aaron Hillier (Jacob Edwards, 67).
