Swansea City Under-18s continued their unbeaten start to the Professional development League campaign as they claimed a 5-2 victory over Fleetwood Town on Saturday morning.

The visitors took an early lead with four minutes played through a Finley Haselden goal. But three first-half goals from Llewelyn Gregson, Rio Hassan and Jacinto Merrony-Janota had the Swans 3-1 up at the break.

One Under-15 and Under-16 were named in the starting XI with Gregson and Merrony-Janota in the side respectively, both also getting on the scoresheet.

Fleetwood were rewarded with a quick start as they found themselves one-goal up inside the opening five minutes.

Swansea looked to respond immediately. Kaleab Meron's ball flashed across the face of goal before Buster Morgan struck from range, only for it to bounce off the woodwork.

Ten minutes later, the Swans found themselves level. And it was Under-15s' Gregson who volleyed home from a misplaced pass off a Fleetwood defender.

A momentum switch then saw the Swans on top, and they took the lead in style as Hassan's powerful header from a Swans corner was directed past Giovanni Minipolo in the Fleetwood goal. 

Merrony-Janota made it three goals for the Swans after the youngster tapped home into an empty net from Buster Morgan's delivery.

An even start to the second half, as Fleetwood created the first chance of note. Matthew English almost brought the deficit back to one goal but Swans stopper Jakub Nowak tipped it over the bar.

Approaching the last quarter, Fleetwood did in fact reduce the deficit through a spot kick as Kelly made no mistake from the spot to make it 3-2.

But it didn't phase the young Swans, as they immediately restored that two-goal lead from the restart. Morgan - on his third assist of the afternoon - once again put the ball in a promising position for the on running Meron whose strike from the edge of the area curved into the top corner.

The goals kept coming for the hosts. Brilliant footwork and composure from Baker inside the area allowed him to cut inside and guide the ball into the net through a crowd of Fleetwood defenders to snatch a fifth goal of the afternoon.
