Report | Swansea City U23s 1 Bath City 3

3rd August
Kris O'Leary

Tarrelle Whittaker was on the scoresheet but it wasn’t enough to prevent Swansea City Under-23s suffering a friendly defeat against Bath City.

Kris O’Leary’s side fell behind in the 22nd minute when Omar Holness timed his run perfectly to meet a square ball across the box and fire into the net.

Again facing senior opposition – with the visitors playing their trade in National League South – the Swans showed good character to hit back from the penalty spot nine minutes before the interval.

Whittaker fed Sam Leverett and the midfielder saw his cross blocked by the arm of a defender.

Whittaker stepped up confidently and sent the keeper the wrong way to ensure his side were level at the break.

However, Bath restored their lead in the 54th minute, with Alex Fletcher finishing smartly from another pull-back in the area.

And Mo Touray would make sure of the win for the west country club as he took advantage of some sloppy defending.
