Penalties from Liam Walsh and Michael Obafemi saw a Swansea City XI draw 2-2 with Brentford B in a friendly at Fairwood.

Russell Martin used the game to give a number of his squad some valuable game-time, with each player featuring for the full 90 minutes.

The Swans got off to a rapid start in a game played largely in treacherous conditions, with Liam Cullen brought down in the box by former Swans youngster Nathan Shepperd with just 53 seconds gone. Walsh stepped up to take the penalty and made no mistake from 12 yards.

Morgan Whittaker went close to doubling the lead a minute later, only to be denied by Shepperd.

The visitors were on level terms after 11 minutes through former Rangers striker Nathan Young-Coombes, who fired home from close range.

Cullen and Whittaker tested the gloves of Shepperd once more, while Brandon Cooper’s overhead kick was comfortably tested the Bees keeper in the last real action of the first half.

Brentford took the lead through Young-Coombes in the 58th minute, but the Swans were not to be denied as Obafemi blasted home a penalty after Whittaker was hauled down in the box with ten minutes left.
